Dr. Gadalla is a periodontist, a type of dental specialist that focuses on finding, diagnosing, and treating issues that affect the gums, roots of the teeth, and the bone that supports them. As a result, she’s an expert when it comes to helping patients with gum disease and replacing missing teeth with dental implants. We’re extremely grateful to have her on our team, and you can learn more about what brought her to our dental office below.
Dr. Gadalla ultimately decided to become a dentist because of her mother. Her mother also wanted to be a dentist, but unfortunately, she couldn’t pursue her dream because Dr. Gadalla’s grandmother passed away during her mother’s senior year of high school. As a result, her mother attended economics school so she could be closer to home and better support her family. Years later, this story led to Dr. Gadalla choosing to pursue dentistry herself and finally complete her mother’s dream.
Dr. Gadalla is originally from Libya, so she graduated from dental school and practiced there for three years before immigrating to the United States. Soon after arriving, she became a periodontal specialist by completing a fellowship at the University of Florida and a residency at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and St. John Hospital. Still eager to learn, Dr. Gadalla continues to stay on top of the latest dental technology and techniques through her membership in the American Academy of Periodontology.
Just like in our dental office, Dr. Gadalla is an extremely vital team member at home—Mom. She loves taking care of her four children and cooking delicious meals for them, combining Libyan cuisine with American fare. When she isn’t attending her kids’ various activities, she enjoys working with home décor as well as playing volleyball.
